The Mexica were a might empire and were referred to by the Spainards as Aztecs, which they themselves
never went by. The built beautiful temples, were highly organized and were an extremely religious civilization. They often
practied human sacrafice to please the gods and keep the sun shining. When Cortez reached Tenochtitlan in 1521, things would
never be the same.
